Ordering a drawing is simple!

1.     Choose your drawing size.

This may depend on your budget or how many pets you wish to include (see ‘Pricing’ tab to assist). The chosen size refers to the size of the paper it will be drawn on.

2.     Choose if you wish to have a head and neck portrait or a full body portrait.

I recommend a head and neck drawing as it captures your pet’s personality the best but happy to do full body on request.

3.     Choose a photo.

This is the most important part of the whole process! I draw what you provide so you need to be happy with what you see in the photo. See tips below for taking the perfect photo. If you live in the Geelong area, I am available to take a photo for you for $80. Drawings that include more than one dog can be based on different photos.

4.     Email me at alicasboult@gmail.com or fill out the ‘Contact’ form

Please include your requirements & attached photo. Please details of any deadlines (birthday etc). I will recommend the colour of the paper to be drawn on (to suit your pet) or you may choose your own.

5.     Please note that I usually have a waiting list so I will let you know the available time slots. I always try to be flexible.

6.     Pay $50 deposit to secure your booking. Then leave the rest to me!

7.     Keeping in touch.

Once I commence your drawings, I will provide regular updates (unless you want a surprise) & I give you the opportunity to comment. I also post updates on Facebook and Instagram (please let me know if it’s a surprise gift and I will hold off).

8.     On completion

I will email you a photo of the final drawing. At this stage I may be able to make some minor changes if required.

9.     Please pay final balance payment within one week of the drawing being completed.

10.   Once payment received, I will package your drawing and arrange postage/ delivery/ pick up.

11. Enjoy your pet portrait for years to come!

Tips for taking the best photo of your furry friend:

  • The more detail in the photo the better (individual hairs, blemishes, different colours in iris and tongue etc:)

  • Avoid using a flash

  • Take the photo at eye level (photos of your dog looking up are not flattering)

  • Take a photo in natural light (preferably on an overcast day).

  • A Shmacko or a dog treat can work wonders to get a cute expression on your pet’s face. The best angles are front on or with the pet’s face tilted to the side. Photos with your pet’s tongue showing are also very effective.

  • I can assist you to choose the right photo if need be so you are welcome to email me numerous options.
